VOLUNTEER STANDARDS & AGREEMENT

By registering as a Volunteer with Walk Right In Ministries, you have indicated your agreement with the stated releases and Walk
Right In Ministries Volunteer Standards of Conduct.

NOTE: Jammin’ Pie Fest Volunteers must also be a registered guest of Jammin Pie Fest.

Walk Right In Ministries Volunteer Standards of Conduct

  • My actions and words will be a positive and supportive representation of Walk Right In Ministries, and their Christian values.
  • I will be respectful of Walk Right In Ministries facilitation, venue staff, event attendees and other volunteers serving alongside me- putting others and the guests Walk Right In Ministries serves before my own needs and concerns.
  • I will refrain from divisive and disrespectful theological and political dialogue and debates while volunteering for WRIM, being respective of the variety of cultures and faiths that I may interact with that may differ from my own.
  • My purpose and focus in volunteering is to represent and support Walk Right In Ministries and whom they serve; therefore, I will not solicit on behalf of any other organizations or causes while volunteering for Walk Right In Ministries.
  • Following the instructions given to me onsite, I will follow onsite instructions and processes to safeguard all personal and
    private information of all involved.

Please come healthy to protect the safety of others with complex health needs.

We ask the Walk Right In Ministries team, volunteers, and event guests to comply with all Minnesota Department of Health and CDC safety and health guidelines regarding COVID-19 and any other communicable and/or infectious diseases, viruses, bacteria or illnesses. Walk Right In Ministries has the right to deny admission to or reject any person whom the event organizers determine to pose a risk to the health or safety of others.

Thank you for not attending a WRIM organized event if you have:
(a) experienced COVID-19 symptoms in the past 5 days,
(b) received a positive COVID-19 test in the 5 days prior to the event, and
(c) come in contact or close proximity with a confirmed or suspected COVID-19 case in the 5 days prior to the event.

GENERAL RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT
I, the Volunteer, desire to work as a volunteer for Walk Right In Ministries and understand that my Activities may include but are not limited to the following: working in the Walk Right In Ministries offices or sites where Walk Right In Ministries is operating away from its offices; traveling to and from sites; consuming food available or provided; living in housing provided for volunteers; performing physical labor at the sites for WRIM’s events, and other activities. I, the Volunteer, hereby freely, voluntarily and without duress execute this release under the following terms:

Assumption of Risk. I assume all risks associated with my participation in the Walk Right In Ministries activities and events. I acknowledge and agree that the Walk Right In Ministries is not responsible for the safety or security of my personal effects and release Walk Right In Ministries from liability for theft, damage, or destruction of my personal property. I also understand that while volunteering for Walk Right In Ministries I may enter into activities that may be hazardous to me and I hereby expressly and specifically assume the risk of injury or harm in these activities and release Walk Right In Ministries, its successors, and assigns from all liability for injury, illness, death or property damage resulting from the activities of my time working with Walk Right In Ministries.

Release. In exchange for the opportunity to participate in Walk Right In Ministries activities, either volunteering or as a guest, and for other valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which I acknowledge, I hereby give up, release, and forever discharge any and all of my claims against the Sponsors (including, but not limited to, Lisa and Larry Jamieson, Walk Right In Ministries, and each of their owners, vendors, subsidiaries, affiliates, predecessors, successors, officers, directors, employees, agents, assigns and insurers), and any related persons or entities including claims arising from the Sponsors’ own negligence. I agree that the opportunity to participate in Walk Right In Ministries activities is a full and fair exchange for the release of all of my claims. I expressly assume the risk of any accident or injury, including death, which may result from my participation in the Event. Neither I nor my beneficiaries, heirs, next of kin, spouses and assigns will not sue or make any claims against the Sponsors in connection with my claims. I agree to indemnify and hold the Sponsors harmless from anyone, including all medical providers and insurers, who does sue or make a claim as a result of my participation.

I am giving up and releasing all of my claims, including claims for damages that may not have happened yet and that may be unforeseen or unexpected.

I understand and agree to irrevocably grant to Sponsors, its successors, assigns and licensees the exclusive right and authority to copyright, use and publish my voice, picture, name and likeness for advertising, publicity or promotional and other purposes in connection with the Sponsors in any form, including and without limitation, newspapers, magazines, motion pictures, game programs, audio tapes, video tapes, television broadcasts and web pages. The right shall belong to the sponsor at all times and shall survive the termination of this Agreement. No additional compensation shall be paid or payable to me for any right or use granted to Sponsor by me.

I have read this Agreement carefully and I understand all of it. I know that I am free to consult with an attorney of my own choosing if I want. In signing this Agreement, I have not relied on any statements or explanations by the Sponsors or any of their representatives.

I understand and agree that this Agreement contains all of the agreements between the Sponsors and me, and that we have no other written or oral agreements.

Indemnification. I agree further to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Walk Right In Ministries against any and all losses, damages, liabilities, claims, or whatever kind of nature, including reasonable attorney fees, resulting from my actions while volunteering with Walk Right In Ministries.

No employment relationship or insurance benefits. I understand and acknowledge that I am a volunteer, not an employee of Walk Right In Ministries or other organizations that work with Walk Right In Ministries. As a volunteer, I am not entitled to benefits from Walk Right In Ministries, including but not limited to health or accident insurance, workers compensation benefits, or compensation for duties performed or hours worked. I understand that, except as otherwise agreed to by Walk Right In Ministries in writing, Walk Right In Ministries are under no obligation to provide, carry or maintain health, medical, travel, disability or other insurance coverage for any Volunteer. Each Volunteer is expected and encouraged to obtain his or her own health, medical, travel, disability or other insurance coverage. I also understand that Walk Right In Ministries make no promise to employ my services now, or at any future date. I understand that by my agreeing to serve as a volunteer, it no way obligates me as a volunteer in the future.

Volunteer’s Representations. To my knowledge, I have no restrictions that would keep me from performing any volunteer duties I have accepted, and at no time will I undertake responsibilities that would aggravate a pre-existing medical condition.
